Prison Ministry Pen-Pals

The Archdiocese is looking for volunteers to participate in the Penitentiary Pen-Pal Program. This is a safe program designed to bring hope to those incarcerated and is considered works of mercy. All mailings will be done directly through the Archdiocesan Pastoral Center for safety. If you are interested in reaching out to adults in custody to share kindness and faith, contact Linda Showman at prisonministry @ archdpdx.org.

Volunteering at St. Mary

Then he said to his disciples,
“The harvest is abundant but the laborers are few; so ask the master of the harvest to send out laborers for his harvest.”

~ Matthew 9:37-38

We hope that you will get involved and help us promote the mission of our Lord Jesus Christ through one or more of our ministries. Serving in ministry to the Church is a wonderful way to practice good stewardship of the time and talents that God has entrusted to you.

Please look through our various ministries including Liturgical, Musical, Hispanic, Hospitality, Educational, and so many others. We are a large Parish of a couple thousand families and we always appreciate having help!

Contact a leader of a team you are interested in, or the Parish Office at 541-342-1139 if no name and other contact number is listed for that ministry. We look forward to working with you as we continue to seek our Lord and help build His Kingdom here on Earth!

Speaking of Volunteers… We need more!

St. Mary is in need of more Lectors and Ushers to serve at Mass. We also need Hosts/Hostesses for the Coffee & Donuts Hospitality after the Sunday morning Masses. We comprise a church community of more than 3,000 families and for everything to run as smoothly as all would like, your help is needed!

Do you have a strong voice that projects well and do you read aloud well? Or…perhaps you prefer to assist in behind-the scenes activities, as a support to help Mass run smoothly? Do you enjoy the role of host or hostess? Are you sensing a call to serve here in your Parish? We need your help!

Being a part of the Liturgy is a great way to be of service to your community, as well as to grow in appreciation for the Mass. Are you looking to get to know your fellow parishioners? Hosting Coffee & Donuts after Mass provides the perfect opportunity to say hello and make new friends!

All training is provided, and blessings flow freely to all who choose to participate. Please contact Marybeth in the Parish Office!
