As of August 15, 2021, our seminarian, Matthew Knight has returned to seminary. Let’s keep him in prayer.

Welcome Fr. Joseph Echeme!

Fr. Joseph is a priest of the Diocese of Eldoret in Kenya. He worked in various parishes within his diocese before conducting his clinical studies in Michigan. There, he worked in St. Joseph’s health system as a resident priest chaplain prior to coming to Eugene and working at Sacred Heart Medical Center as a full time priest. Fr. Joseph resides at St. Mary’s rectory. When you see him, kindly welcome him and make him feel part of the community.

Thank You for a Great Work Party!

Many thanks to the 30+ parishioners who turned out for the Inaugural St. Mary Parish Work Party! We had a great showing and a productive day, getting every job done plus more. Teams of volunteers worked together to mulch, weed, scrub and count, sharing fellowship and a pizza lunch! We hope you plan to join us next year to help care for our parish home.

July 13, 2019 St. Mary’s Inaugural Parish Work Party

On a beautiful and sunny Saturday morning, more than 30 parishioners attended the first ever St. Mary Parish Work Party! It was a very productive day with every job assigned getting done plus more. Teams of volunteers worked together to mulch, weed, scrub the kitchen, and count inventory, all while sharing in fellowship and a pizza lunch! Thank You to everyone who made this work party a success and we hope to see  more volunteers next year!

    

May 19, 2019  Farewell, Chase!

On Sunday May 19 we celebrated Chase Willcut’s continuing journey into the priesthood with a farewell gathering, and cake, of course. God bless you, Chase! We have been blessed by your presence, and you will be sorely missed.

Fr. Henry’s Welcome Reception

On Sunday afternoon, October 21 following the 11:00 am Mass, parishioners gathered in the parish center to welcome Fr. Henry Guillen-Vega, the new parochial vicar, into St. Mary’s parish. Fr. Henry is from Masaya, Nicaragua. He enjoys traveling, reading, listening to music, eating out, and spending time with people. He considers himself to be easy going and very social, and he would like to get to know you, so stop by and say hello!

Fr. Ron’s Birthday Celebration

On Sunday afternoon, October 14, 2018 following the 1:00 pm Spanish Mass, a birthday celebration for Fr. Ron took place in the Parish Center. Here are some pictures from the event! Note: Due to privacy issues, the faces of many have been cropped out of the pictures.

40 Hour Adoration Retreat

The Holy Spirit was moving! So many people came together in a miraculous and spontaneous flow of love to make our 40 Hour Adoration Retreat possible! Praise God and all His blessed servants! Thank you to Michael and Jeana for their hard work to make this event happen. It was a great opportunity for people to come together to pray for our parish, the Church at large, and the world.

Memorial: 6th Annual National Day of Remembrance for Aborted Children

At noon on Saturday, September 8, parishioners gathered in St. Mary’s courtyard for a solemn vigil to commemorate the more than 59 million children who lost their lives to abortion since 1973. The event was run by Eric Walter, head of the pro-life group, and the piano accompanist was Julie Walter.

Corpus Christi Procession in Portland:  June 3, 2018

Thanks to all who participated in or supported the Corpus Christi bus trip to Portland!  500+ people from all around Oregon participated in the Eucharistic procession through downtown Portland.

Hawaiian Luau:  June 1, 2018

Thanks to the Knights of Columbus with the support of Catholic Daughters for hosting a wonderful Hawaiian Luau. Fun was had by all!

Homeless Hospitality:  April 23-30, 2018

Thanks to all who made Homeless Hospitality such a success!  Because of you, our parish was able to provide support and shelter to a few families in need.  One grateful family wrote:
