Roof Restoration Campaign – A Message of Gratitude

It is with sincere gratitude to the many parishioners and friends who made our matching program possible in support of the Roof Restoration Campaign, we are pleased to share the completion of this important project.

Through your generosity and faithful response, the church roof has been fully restored at a total cost of $578,000, including the construction work, the architect’s fees, and a small handful of additional repairs discovered along the way. The remarkable speed with which parishioners responded with gifts and pledges—and the many pledges already fulfilled—together with funds previously designated in our Building Fund, allow us to pay for the project in full without borrowing from the Diocese.

During construction, we experienced what might best be described as a “providential interruption.” As many of you may recall, in previous years the upstairs St. Joseph Room sustained damage to its walls, ceiling, and carpeting due to roof leakage, as did portions of the sacristy. Because these repairs were not urgent, they were not initially included in the scope of this project. However, unexpected leakage during construction caused additional damage to those same areas.

In response, our contractor agreed to cover 70% of the repair costs necessary to restore the walls, ceilings, and flooring to an acceptable condition. As a result, repairs that would have otherwise required significant future expenses were completed at a substantially reduced cost to the parish. We are grateful for this outcome and for the cooperation that made it possible.

While the roof project is now fully funded, we still have $39,600 in outstanding pledges that we anticipate receiving in the coming months through 2027. We kindly ask those who made commitments to continue fulfilling them as planned. These remaining funds will allow us to replenish our Building Fund, ensuring that we are prepared for the next inevitable maintenance need that comes with caring for a facility of this size and age.

This project was accomplished not by one individual, but by a community united in faith, generosity, and trust in God’s providence, including parishioners, friends, and benefactors whose extraordinary support made a meaningful difference. We are deeply grateful for every sacrifice and for the shared commitment to preserving our parish home for generations to come.

May the Lord bless you abundantly for strengthening His house and the life of our parish community.
