On Monday, April 14, 2025, Fr. Ron, Fr. Raj, and Fr. Secil joined other priests to concelebrate the Chrism Mass with Archbishop Sample at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in Portland. 

Monday’s Chrism Mass brought together 147 concelebrating priests and over 1,000 faithful—including deacons, religious, and representatives from across our diverse Archdiocese.

In his homily, Archbishop Sample spoke boldly about mission renewal in western Oregon. He called on all of us—clergy and laity alike—to rededicate ourselves to the mission entrusted to us by Jesus Christ, proclaiming, "Now is the time."

He emphasized that to be renewed in our mission, we must be clear about two things: who we are and what our mission is. He exhorted the faithful to overcome isolation, urging us to “end extreme parochialism” and to live as one Church united in purpose.

"We are one Church in Western Oregon. Our mission is to witness to the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Our mission is to make disciples for Jesus."
